Support the Department

Everyone writes, and good writing is central to success in a 21st-century, knowledge-based economy. Supporting student writers and the teaching of writing is investing in the civic and corporate leaders of tomorrow. You can support writing at UCF in many ways, including the following:

  • University Writing Center, including main and regional campus sites and efforts
  • The Writing Across the Curriculum program, including named faculty fellowships for specific disciplines
  • Sponsorship of the Knights Write Showcase, an annual, public celebration of excellence in student writing
  • Sponsorship of Stylus, a peer-reviewed journal of first-year writing
  • Named scholarships for excellence in student writing for both department majors and students across the university
  • An endowed visiting professorship, bringing a senior, nationally-recognized scholar to teach and promote writing-related research at UCF
  • Donations can also be made to the Department of Writing and Rhetoric’s general fund.

You can donate by visiting the UCF Foundation’s website (be sure to select "Writing and Rhetoric General Fund" in the Designation drop-down menu) or by sending a check made payable to “UCF Foundation, Inc.” (with “Department of Writing and Rhetoric” in the memo line) to the address below. Departmental representatives are happy to meet with any interested donors.
