Knights Write Showcase

The Knights Write Showcase provides a chance for students and faculty from across campus to get a glimpse of the exciting work currently going on in our First-Year Writing Program. Activities include student displays, student panels, a faculty panel, and the Stylus Awards Ceremony.

2nd Annual Knights Write Showcase

The 2nd Annual Knights Write Showcase was held on February 13, 2012 in the Pegasus Ballroom.

Knights Write Showcase Agenda:

  • 9:30–10:30 – Student Panel: Engineering, Police, and Law: Discourse Community Analyses
  • 10:30–11:30 – Student Panel: Connecting Personal and Public Writing
  • 11:30–12:30 – Faculty Panel: The Importance of Writing in Faculty Lives
  • 12:30–1:00 – Announcements
  • 1:00–1:45 – President and Provost Awards Ceremony
  • 1:45–2:00 – Closing Remarks

John C. Hitt Prize for Excellence in First-Year Writing

Awarded yearly as part of the Stylus Awards ceremony, the John C. Hitt Prize recognizes the talent and hard work of one student published in either of the preceding winter or spring issues. This $450 award includes a $250 book scholarship provided by the President. More information about the prize and its past winners can be found here.
