Dr. Blake Scott's Book Wins the National Communication Association's Health Communication Distinguished Book Award

Congratulations to Blake Scott, whose book Risky Rhetoric: AIDS and the Cultural Practices of HIV Testing (2003) just won the National Communication Association's Health Communication Distinguished Book Award. He will be recognized at the NCA business meeting and awards ceremony on November 18th. The Distinguished Book Award recognizes research that has made, or offers the promise of making, a significant contribution to scholarship in Health Communication theory, research, and/or practice. Books become eligible for this award 5 years after the original publication date. His nominees noted how Risky Rhetoric has become a canonical text in both undergraduate and graduate courses, has had multiple positive reviews in national journals, and has made lasting theory-building and methodological contributions to the field.
